2021 was a successful year for the two new team leads Patrick Thaler and Florian Joachimbauer. Find out more about who they are and what challenges they will be facing with their team in the coming year here:
Patrick Thaler, Teamlead SAP Software Engineering, implements SAP development in ICS with his team. The team deals with backend developments in the area of databases and business processes, as well as frontend developments in the area of the various SAP frameworks. In March 2021, Patrick started his career at ICS as an SAP Software Engineer. During this time, he has already actively supported various projects and driven improvements in the area of SAP software development.
Numerous projects will keep his team busy in the future, including Fruit & Vegetables 3 Days Fresher, the connection of TOTARA, Weinwelt online and S/4 Hana in the Finance area. Especially relevant for upcoming challenges is the good cooperation within the team. Patrick is taking on this challenge with the goal of establishing his team as a technology engine in the SAP area. To achieve this, the introduction of a standardized way of working is essential - and the team has already succeeded in doing so. The first step has thus been taken: in line with the agile mindset of ICS, the team structure can be made more efficient and there is room for further training of the team members. Patrick's motivation can be summed up as such. "The purest form of madness is to leave everything as it is and hope that something will change" - Albert Einstein
Florian Joachimbauer takes over the management of the Store Retail Team, which is responsible for the applications and products at the "point of sale" that can be found in every single SPAR store. He has already been part of the team since 2018, and is now its lead. He really takes this task to heart - in the last four years he has worked on numerous applications such as self-service checkouts, vault processes & reporting and many others. In the future, he sees the biggest challenge for his team in the implementation of the eSTORE checkout software. The goal is to introduce the new POS software in all ASPIAG countries in the next few years.
Currently, the IMAge introduction, the central merchandise management system, is on the agenda in Italy. In addition to team management, Florian sees this project as a central pillar of his tasks in the years ahead. In addition to professional development, however, personal balance is not to be overlooked: in his free time, he enjoys skiing, kite surfing and bouldering. This quote describes Florian's work-life balance extremely well: "Life is like riding a bike. To keep the balance, you have to keep moving."
