How do we generate the greatest added value from the available data for our business units? The answer is: we establish an in-house Data & Analytics department!
Under the leadership of Stefan Edelmayer, the new department has been in place since January 2021 and combines the topics of Planning, Reporting, Advanced Analytics, Customer Data and Data Engineering. These topics were previously distributed across several teams.
Under the leadership of Stefan Edelmayer, the new department has been in place since January 2021 and combines the topics of Planning, Reporting, Advanced Analytics, Customer Data and Data Engineering. These topics were previously distributed across several teams. Through the organisational change, we are bundling the aforementioned competences in one department and enabling our business departments to make data-driven decisions. The focus is on the following questions, which are answered by our data.
What has happened?
By using historical data, business intelligence tools, data visualisations and dashboards, our business gets insights into what is happening.
Why did it happen?
By using techniques such as drill down and data mining, the causes and correlations between business activities are analysed.
What will happen?
Analysing current and historical data to make predictions about the potential outcome of business decisions.
What should I do?
Using techniques to recommend actions that should be taken in a particular situation.
In doing so, we also define a new standard and apply current agile working methods such as DataOps. This ensures the profitable use of all our business data.
Stefan Edelmayer started his ICS career as an IT Application Manager Manufacturing & Logistic. He then lead the Business Intelligence team for many years. Now he can prove his leadership qualities as a head of department:
"I am looking forward to the new challenge and by the end of the year we will successfully tackle the next projects with DataOps as well as fully in the sense of 'Data as a Product' and generate added value for the company. We will only be able to do this together, but I am very convinced of my employees as data professionals!"
