On March 24th, 2018, the SPAR ICS team (Alexander Auer, Josef Perdolt, Robert Leitl, Norbert Nindl and Roland Schwaiger) participated in the fourth Robothon of the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg (Puch Urstein). Despite all the ideas and refinements, the team with its project - a mobile robotics system - just missed the podium. "The teams were challenged in hardware (robots, sensors, boards) as well as software technology.
Setting up a moving robot from zero within 24 hours is a strong performance", said Jasmin Walzinger, ICS480 Digital Platforms, which was a jury member at the Robothon 4.0.
At the event, all participating teams should create a driving and maneuvering robot within 24 hours. Among the IT-community the Robothon is getting more and more attractive. Not only ingenuity and creativity pays off, but also the competition becomes more medially present and the IT industry is increasingly winning over the younger generation. "A very successful event! The participants and visitors showed that technology in combination with software is more than well received by the younger generation", says Jasmin Walzinger.
